EDITORIAL The East African Journal of Information Sciences (EAJIS) is a publication of the School of Information Sciences, Moi University. It is a biannual journal that was established to address the need for a journal devoted to highlight recent development trends in research in areas pertinent to Information Sciences and allied studies, both within and without East Africa. The main objective of this journal is to enhance the advancement of research for sustainable development. It will therefore provide a forum for researchers to disseminate results of their research activities. It will also act as a data base for research results and exchange of information for researchers worldwide on issues on information sciences and allied areas of study. The Journal, therefore, fitsaccurately within the mission of Moi University- to create, preserve and disseminate knowledge and to make a full contribution to the development of the welfare of the society through teaching and research. EAJIS is a peer review journal which focuses on information sciences and related areas of study. The articles contained in this issue have been authored by scholars from various institutions all over the world. It therefore contains a unique blend of knowledge from a variety of backgrounds. Furthermore, the articles were peer-reviewed and their placement in the journal is judicious and purely based on merit. As we invite readers to embrace this journal, it should be noted that its sustainability depends on the initiative of the entire readership. Above all, it is hoped that the articles will stimulate useful yet healthy debate that will help give more critical insights on the themes discussed in this second volume (issue). We hope such analysis and views will feature in subsequent issue
